When I joined the NLP sharing session, I knew that it would be able to help me with some issues I was experiencing. I knew NLP could help me to grow. I knew NLP could help me to find myself.
Today, I am happy to see the results and love to share my learning journey.
NLP has mainly helped me with two things:
- It has given me more self-acceptance
- It has given me tools to manage my emotional and mental states.
What I learned in this course is all about understanding. I was in a state where I didn’t really know who I am or why I have, what I have. NLP has given me the gift of self-understanding. It has given me the gift of self-acceptance. And it has given the gift of feeling that I have power to control my life.
What really made the big difference is that I discovered how I communicate to myself and others. I started to get aware how destructive my communication is. And I only noticed the moment I understood that communication not just means words (self-talk) but also feelings, pictures and sound. In the past I tried to change words which never made a change in me. Today I know why. My internal representation was not in line with my words. I needed to change this.
First of all I needed to change my words in my self-talk, so that I also feel that I mean them. I am a high in kinaesthetic. Self-acknowledgement made the difference for me. After acknowledging myself daily, even if I didn’t do that well, my state started to change.
I give thanks to the NLP presuppositions where I learn to separate intention from behaviour. This enabled me to acknowledge my intention and really mean it as there is a good intention behind any behaviour. The more self-accepting I became the more I felt aligned with myself. The more accepting I became towards me the clearer I could see who I am and why I am where I am. Communication is so important and NLP made it clear to me why it is.
There are many things I could share about NLP I have learned. For me being able to accept myself more, however, made the biggest difference.
