It is through fully realizing the power of persuasion that they are able to get the dream partner they have always been dreaming of.

Regardless of what you do, be it landing for the dream job, going after your dream girl or just to be the centre of attraction, learning how to sell effectively is crucial.

Just think about all the great achievers and leaders that ever live in this planet. What is the one common trait they all share?

They all possess the incredible ability to sell, persuade and motivate others into their way of thinking!

Effective selling gets you what you want in life, and that’s an undeniable fact! However, as much as everyone wants to learn how to sell effectively, only a handful of us are able to truly grasp it.

The reason is simply because majority of the people are still stuck with those ineffective, conventional sales methods taught in those sales training programs!

Few know about the five steps NLP sales process which incorporates the method to method manage the emotions and psychological aspects of your clients.

NLP Sales Process Step 1 – Establishing Rapport

This is by far one of the most critical skills that every influential man or woman practices.

Without building rapport, nothing goes further.

All great relationships are built based on trust, and this usually does not take place overnight. Yet, rapport is the foundation in which trust is built on.

Thus, you can always engage the NLP matching and mirroring technique to create a good first impression on anyone whom you have just met. When you have built a strong connection with him/her (e.g. ideal partner, job interviewer, potential business client etc), it is often much easier for you to lead the relationship to a deeper level at the later stage.

In NLP, we term that as pacing and leading.

NLP Sales Process Step 2 – Ask Questions

After you have established rapport with your prospect client (or dream girl), you will have to be able to ask intelligent questions to elicit vital information from him or her.

For example, if you’d truly interested to know your date better, you may need to ask questions to find out what her values are.

In any sales situation, the person who’s doing less of the talking is often put in a more favourable position. The more you give the other person a chance to speak, you will be able to find out more about his needs and desires. And this can be accomplished by the use of questioning techniques like the NLP meta-model.

NLP Sales Process Step 3– Establish a Need

This is a process that involves proposing a solution to the client’s problem and meeting his needs. Remember that no one is going to be sold unless your product can satisfy his/her needs.

Thus, your job is to qualify your prospect here and discern if your product matches his/her needs. Unfortunately, most sales people tend to spend 80% of their time on people who are unlikely to buy from them. To be productive in sales, you will have to spend more time only on “high probability” clients.

NLP Sales Process Step 4 – Link the Need or Value

This step will come easy if proper pacing and leading has been done earlier.

At this point, you should propose how your product or service will help solve the problem that you have uncovered earlier.   

At this juncture, it may also be common for you to face objections from your clients. This is a good sign, since it provides you with an opportunity to clarify their concerns and proceed easily to the close.

And this can be achieved through the use of the NLP Sleight of Mouth Patterns or Quantum Linguistics.

NLP Sales Process Step 5 – Close the Deal

Here, you will be asking for the order or accomplish the objective that you have set yourself to achieve in the first place.

Since young, we have already learned to sell through crying and making noises. And that definitely makes us born salesmen or saleswomen.

The reason why this 5 step NLP sales process is so powerful in getting prospective customers to your side is because when using it, you are appealing to both the emotional and psychological aspects of your prospects.

By building trust, eliciting their needs, linking them to the values which your product or service offers and finally closing the deal, you have made it almost impossible for your customers to not buy from you!
