Above are just a few examples of sportsmen who have learned how to use the NLP anchoring effectively to give them the competitive edge in their sport events.
So how can you use this technique to help you get more out of your life? First let’s have a recap of what is NLP anchoring.
What’s NLP Anchoring
Practiced by majority of the most successful people in our culture, the NLP anchoring tool allows people to reproduce any resourceful states that they want anytime and anywhere they want.
It works on the principle that any time a person is in an associated, intense state, if at the peak of the experience, a specific stimulus is applied, then the two will be linked neurologically.
The NLP anchoring technique is highly renowned for its ability to change one’s behaviour fast as it bypasses the conscious faculty.
4 steps to effective NLP Anchoring:
- Recall a past experience. This involves thinking of a past event where you have felt a particular way or been resourceful. As you relive the past experience, you want to elicit the difference that makes a difference.
- Anchor on state. This should be done when the experience is about to reach the peak. It can be done by a touch of your knuckles or a unique gesture.
- Changing the state.
- Evoking the new state.
Besides remembering the 4 steps, 2 important considerations while working on the anchoring process are also the level of intensity of the experience and the number of times when the anchor is applied. In order to strengthen an anchor, you should work with more intense past experiences and apply the anchor as many times as you can.
Sounds easy it may be, but the NLP anchoring technique is probably one of the most powerful techniques that I have ever come across. So practice this incredible tool faithfully in your life, and enjoy the positive results you are going to experience.
